Dies soul singer Fontella Bass at age 72

Fontella Bass, music, soul, R&B, gospelThe year 2012 wants to end in a tragic way as it has been to know this news. Soul singer Fontella Bass known for singing the great classic "Rescue Me", died Wednesday at age 72 after suffering a series of health complications rather delicate.

The heart of the American singer of soul, R & B and gospel could not take it anymore. Fontella Bass died on Dec. 26 at a hospital in Saint Louis after several health complications, several strokes and after suffering a heart attack three weeks earlier. 

A collaborator of the singer who works at the agency and Attractions Universal has confirmed in a brief but intense phrase: "Yes, unfortunately it is true".

Fontella Bass, music, soul, R&B, gospelFontella Bass has worked all her life in the music world. Her mother, Martha Bass, was a gospel singer Clara Ward Singers, and her brother, the late R & B singer David Peaston also had a few successes in the 80s and 90s. 

Her first successes were with singer Bobby McClure soul in 1965 with songs like "Do not Mess Up A Good Thing" and "You'll Miss Me (When I'm Gone)" compared her with the great Aretha Franklin.

As with any other artist, the singer has been known for one song, "Rescue me", but she has had other successes and collaborations has had throughout her career. A song that has become the anthem of  R&B and which was for four weeks in the top spot of the Billboard. 

Song that have been covered by a dozen singers like Linda Ronstadt, Cher, Nu Generation, Melissa Manchester and Pat Benatar, among others. Difficult to forget a song for all those who love good music of all time.
