http://st-listas.20minutos.es/images/2012-02/320685/3396673_249px.jpg?1329508031The former half of the successful duo Simon and Garfunkel, Art Garfunkel, editing a retrospective compilation of forty of his best songs of his entire musical career that will be released on 10 April this year at the hands of the Columbia label.

For lovers of good music and the nostalgia of times past, will enjoy this 2 CD album containing forty songs of the entire career from his first album of Simon and Garfunkel, "Wednesday Morning, 3 AM" in 1964 until 2007 with his musical "Some Enchanted Evening". In the collection there is no material included in the first group of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, Tom and Jerry.

As Garfunkel told Esquire magazine, "No advantage to exaggerate the contribution of each ... There are many songs that I am a mere shadow. Many songs, I was the white border around the black coffee of Paul Simon." . He added: "This is what it is. Those are the two personalities. This is what is happening (..) And the sound is beautiful, only if the composition works.".

In addition, offers his personal notes Garfunkel track by track, handwriting, which appear in the brochure that will include the compilation. The notes are as unique as himself Garfunkel. He writes that "Cecilia," a hit for Simon & Garfunkel, 1970: "Car! Shouted in Queens. Then we stopped the game and we kept away to the side. I grew up in brick houses that were semi-detached with roadways on the medium. sandbags Eram kings. Somehow we made the cry as street children find their way to "Cecilia." we shouted the song on a track we did a loop from clapping hands rhythmically in our pants jeans."

The intertwining of the songs from the repertoire of Simon & Garfunkel, with songs from the repertoire of solo Art Garfunkel is one of the hallmarks of the singer, since the collection has a timeless air to and fro through time in a seamless pattern.

"No matter how fleeting entertainment and popularity," Garfunkel said in Esquire magazine summarizing his entire musical history in a sentence. "When we hear Ray Charles, come on," That's a great singer." You do not need a journalist or a writer who tells you. What good is good and should shine through the years."
